It includes both formal (hình thức) and informal (phi hình thức) logic. Formal logic is the study of deductively valid inferences (suy luận diễn dịch hợp lý) or logical truths. It examines how conclusions (kết luận) follow from premises (tiền đề) based on the structure of arguments (luận cứ/suy luận) alone, independent of their topic and content. Informal logic is associated with informal fallacies (ngụy biện), critical thinking, and argumentation theory.
